Biography
The Apricot (Prunus armeniaca) is a species of Prunus, classified with the plum in the subgenus Prunus. The juice has a sharp rich sweet taste.
Nutritional Analysis
Apricots have a good nutritional profile being rich in the vitamins A, C, B2 and B3. Whilst being a good source of potassium, magnesium, copper and iron.
Apricots contain phytonutrient compounds called carotenoids, compounds that give red, orange and yellow colors to fruits and vegetables. The powerful antioxidant Lycopene is one of the carotenoids found in apricots.
