Beetroot Juice
Biography
Beet root is part of the Amaranthaceae/Chenopodiaceae family.
The green of the root can also be juiced, both the root and the greens are said to be powerful cleansers to the liver, kidneys and blood.
Research has shown that beetroot juice boosts stamina and could help people exercise for up to 16% longer. The juice has previously been shown to reduce blood pressure.
Nutritional Analysis
Beetroot Juice is a rich source of vitamins C and A, whilst being equally rich in the minerals manganese, potassium, iron, magnesium and calcium. Beet root is rich in betaine which is important to cardiovascular health.
Beet juice is rich in the phytonutrient betacyans which give the root its violet deep red colour. Betacyans have been shown to have effective anti-oxident and anti-microbial properties aswell as strengthen the immune system. Other compounds and phytonutrients in beet have been found to be benefical to the body.
