Heavy metal toxicity is an excessive accumulation of metals in the body which can cause a wide array of common health problems. Alginates cant be broken down by bile or saliva and thus are not absorbed by the body, whatever has binded to the alginates is then eliminated from the body.   • 2 cups packed fresh cilantro (coriander, Chinese parsley) (vitamin A)
  • 2/3 cup flaxseed oil
  • 4 tablespoons lemon juice (vitamin C)
  • 2 tsp dulse powder
  • Sea salt to taste

Pectin

Pectin is a natural substance which is found in many fruits and vegetables, and has the ability to detox heavy metals and other contaminants. Pectin is a nice gentle way to detox heavy metals without too much side effects but if you wish for a stronger chelation using pectin then you can buy in powder form from many health food stores. Good sources of pectin are bananas, apples, the rinds of citrus fruits(lemons, oranges and grapefruit), carrots, beets, okra and cabbage.
